Product Details
The applications for Hardieâ„¢ Flex Sheet cover a wide range of design solutions for your home. Hardie Flex Sheets are suitable for use in residential extensions, second story additions and gable ends. It can also be used to line porches, verandahs, carports and for soffits and eaves. One of the most economical solutions available Hardie Flex is commonly used for board and batten style cladding. Don't overlook the durability and sophistication for new construction as well. It is a natural, un-sanded sheet that is immediately suitable for a paint finish and the installation could not be easier. The panels make straight walls look sleek, clean and modern. For a truly modern look add battens for design impact.
Best for + Key Benefits
Hardie™ Flex Sheet is a smooth, flat fibre cement sheet designed to be painted on-site for a clean, flat-panel look. It’s a square-edged 6mm sheet that’s commonly chosen as a simple, cost-effective external cladding and soffit solution—especially for board-and-batten designs.
Best for
- Board-and-batten feature walls (modern or coastal looks)
- Flat-panel external cladding and gable ends
- Eaves/soffits (including expressed-joint looks with PVC joiners)
- Renovations and extensions where a durable painted sheet is preferred
Key benefits
- Smooth, flat sheet that’s immediately suitable for a paint finish (natural, un-sanded)
- Can be built with PVC jointers, timber battens, or Hardieâ„¢ Axentâ„¢ Trim battens
- Resistant to fire, impact, rot, and damage from termites and moisture
- Suitable for installation to timber or light gauge steel frames
- Australian made with a 25-year product warranty
What to consider
- Hardie™ Flex Sheets are commonly jointed with PVC straight joint moulds and finished at corners with surface-mounted PVC corner moulds—plan your joint/trim look early (expressed joints vs battens).
- If you’re using sheets for structural bracing, note: 4.5mm sheets must not be used as bracing (bracing design must follow James Hardie guidance).
