Internal bathroom or dry area flooring made easy.
Product Details
Scyon Secura™ interior flooring is a durable fibre cement sheet for wet areas (like bathrooms and laundries) and dry rooms (like bedrooms). It’s lightweight, versatile, and designed as a dual-surface solution: one face suits tiled finishes and includes a sealant gap, while the reverse face is suitable for vinyl or carpet where a gapless tongue-and-groove joint is preferred.
Secura sheets are sealed on all sides with a moisture-resistant sealer, reducing moisture penetration and removing the need for waterproofing outside enclosed shower areas (always confirm your project’s wet-area compliance requirements). The sheets can be exposed to the elements for up to 3 months without warping, twisting, or requiring sanding. Tongue-and-groove edges support a quick, secure join and minimise the need for additional underlay under vinyl applications.
Best for
Hardie™ Secura interior flooring is ideal when you need a stable, moisture-tolerant substrate that supports both tiled and resilient floor finishes.
Best for:
- Wet areas such as bathrooms and laundries, where moisture resistance matters most.
- Dry internal rooms where you want a durable structural flooring sheet under vinyl, carpet, or tiles.
- Tiled floors where you want to avoid underlay build-up and reduce height transitions between adjoining finishes.
- Builds where simplified waterproofing outside enclosed shower areas is desirable (subject to compliance requirements).
- Projects that may experience weather exposure during construction delays (up to 3 months exposure stated).
- Customers wanting long-term durability and manufacturer-backed performance.
Selecting the Best Type of Product
Choose the right Secura sheet based on three things: where it’s being used, what finish is going on top, and the thickness your project requires.
- Where it’s being used
• Wet areas: prioritise the moisture-sealed flooring sheet intended for bathrooms and laundries.
• Dry areas: use the same structural flooring substrate for bedrooms and living spaces when you want a tougher base than standard flooring options.
• Interior vs exterior: confirm you’re ordering the correct product for your application—Secura variants differ by use case. - What finish is going on top
• Tiles: designed so tiles can be applied directly without underlay, helping reduce floor height build-up.
• Vinyl or carpet: the reverse face is suited to resilient finishes and is designed around a gapless tongue-and-groove joint style.
• Mixed finishes: if your project transitions from tile to vinyl/carpet, selecting a direct-fix substrate helps keep levels more consistent. - Thickness and format
If you stock multiple thicknesses (e.g., 19mm and 22mm), choose based on the project’s stiffness and structural requirements. Match sheet selection to the engineer/specifier’s design and your framing/floor system requirements.
